Online Mug Making Workshop — January 15, 2026

Excited to share that I’ll be teaching an Online Mug Making Workshop on January 15, 2026, hosted by Pocosin Arts.

In this online workshop, I’ll guide participants through my handbuilding process for creating a functional mug using colored clay. The class will focus on building form by hand, exploring surface through color and pattern, and developing a quiet, thoughtful relationship between function and design. This workshop is suitable for ceramic artists who are comfortable with basic clay handling and are interested in learning more about surface-focused handbuilding techniques.

We’ll cover how I prepare and work with colored clay, how I approach pattern placement, and how I build a mug form that feels balanced and comfortable to use. I’ll also share tips on managing clay moisture, refining surfaces, and thinking about functional details during the making process.

This workshop will take place live online, allowing participants to follow along from their own studios and ask questions throughout the session. I’m really looking forward to sharing my process and connecting with makers from different places through this class.
